Tension Type Headache-we can give you a reprieve!

Remedial and therapeutic massage can usually help. A lot.

Meta studies of many non-pharmacological treatments for Tension Type Headaches (TTH) found the most effective treatment to be “soft tissue interventions and dry needling “ (Danilo et al 2020).This has led the European Federation of Neurological Society (EFNS) to suggest non-pharmacologic treatments for patients with TTH, stating “Physical therapy and acupuncture may be valuable options for patients with frequent TTH, acupuncture and dry needling.” (Bendtsen et al 2010). When in 2010 the EFNS paper was written, little good quality clinical evidence was available, this is no longer the case, and from recent peer reviewed clinical studies on the subject of TTH, we can say massage and dry needling are unequivocally effective therapies to combat TTH. (Kamonseki et al 2020)
